Police Blotter: Robbery Pattern in Northeastern End of Bed-Stuy

The perpetrator has robbed four females in the same general area over the past two weeks

Robbery Pattern
The New York City Police Department's 81st Precinct in Bed-Stuy wants to alert residents to a recent robbery pattern taking place over the past two weeks in the northeastern end of Bed-Stuy.

According to police, the perpetrator -- described only as a black male -- has  assaulted and robbed four females of their money and personal possessions over the past two weeks, between the hours of 10:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. within the confines of Broadway Avenue to Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Kosciuszko Street and Vernon Avenue.

All of the women were walking by themselves.

“I just advise people to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings," said 81st Pct. Community Affairs Officer William Manderson. "They should not have their phones visible and try to let someone know they’re coming. There is now more man power out there, but I don’t want anyone to become a victim.”

Building Collapse on Howard Ave
On Friday, June 15, at around 3:30 a.m., a man driving an SUV lost control of the wheel and barreled into a residential building located at 214 Howard Avenue (at the corner of (Bainbridge Street), causing the building to partially collapse. No one was hurt. The building was evacuated and the Buildings Department is now working on repairing the facade.

The car's driver was arrested for driving without a license and also was taken in for suspected DWI, according to police.
