NYPD Seeking Bed-Stuy Subway Thief

The suspect engages his victims on the platform, follows them on the train and then robs them

The New York City Police Department is looking for a man wanted for two robberies in Bed-Stuy and is asking for the public's assistance.

The suspect is described as a 5 foot 7 black man, around 50 years old with salt-and-pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored long sleeve shirt, dark pants with a white stripe on both sides, light-colored cap, and he walks with a noticeable limp. 

In both robbery incidents, the suspect approached his victims on the subway platform, engages them in a conversation and then boards the train with them. While talking to his victims, the suspect then simulates he is holding a gun in his pants pocket. He then waits until they arrive at another subway station before he removes their personal property and then flees.

The first reported incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, at 09:50 a.m. The suspect approached a 25-year-old man standing on the southbound "G" platform at the Myrtle/Willoughby train station. The suspect robbed the victim of his cellphone at the Bedford/Nostrand Ave subway station and then fled on foot.

The second reported incident occurred on Tuesday, June 25, at around 8:10 a.m. the suspect approached a 23-year-old man standing on the northbound "A/C" platform at the Nostrand Avenue train station. The suspected robbed the victim of his cellphone and other electronics at the Jay Street station and then fled on the northbound "F" train.
