Man Shot on Hancock Thursday Morning

There have been no arrests made, and detectives are currently working the case

Police are asking the public's assistance in locating the whereabouts of the person responsible for shooting a 23-year-old man early Thursday morning on Hancock St. 

According to police, on Thursday, May 23, at approximately 2:24 a.m., police received a 911 call of shots fired in the vicinity of Hancock St and Patchen Ave.

Cops arrived on the scene, canvassed the area and recovered one bullet shell casing from in front of 723 Hancock Street. They did not see a victim. However, after calling around to local hospitals, police were able to identify one victim, Francis Lakim, who had been injured at the location.

He was at Woodhull Hospital with one gunshot wound to his chest. He remains in critical condition.

There have been no arrests made, and detectives are currently working the case.
