Renee Collymore, born and raised in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill, is well known in Brooklyn politics. She first ran for office in 2010 and it was there that she's made her splash into the political arena.

In 2012, Renee was elected as the Democratic State Committeewoman/District Leader for the 57th Assembly District. She represents Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, parts of Crown Heights, Bedford - Stuyvesant and Park Slope.

Renee also serves as the Treasurer of the Kings County Democratic Party.

Renee Collymore is also the Founder of the Parliament Democratic Club, a progressive club that has featured several top notch elected officials from all across the City of New York.

Renee is the landlord of the Greene Hill Food Coop, which is the newest food coop in Brooklyn.

Renee serves on the Community Advisory Board of the Brooklyn Hospital.

Renee is the head of the Vanderbilt Avenue Block Association in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill.

Renee is the creator of the Fundamentals of Citizenship, a civics course for middle school-aged children.
