Lurie Daniel-Favors is the founder of Daniel Favors Law PLLC, a New York law firm that seeks economic justice and helps people with money problems become financially empowered. She practices primarily in the area of economic justice, consumer debt defense and bankruptcy protection. The law firm promotes enhanced financial education for communities that have been historically burdened by debt.  In addition to tackling finance issues, Daniel Favors Law also represents victims of police brutality.

Prior to opening Daniel Favors Law, Ms. Daniel-Favors was a corporate finance associate in the New York offices of Manatt Phelps and Phillips, LLP and at Proskauer Rose LLP. She served as a law clerk in the Chambers of the Honorable Sterling Johnson, Jr., in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Before graduating from New York University School of Law, Ms. Daniel-Favors co-founded Sankofa Community Empowerment, Inc. (“SCE”), a non-profit organization that creates and implements youth, college, community and economic development programs structured to empower racially and economically disenfranchised communities. She co-founded Breaking the Cycle Consulting LLC, an educational consulting firm that trains educators to use culturally responsive teaching to increase academic achievement in at-risk student populations.
