Remembering Dr. John Henrik Clark (PART 1)

Today was an auspicious gathering of a proud community of Afree-Kin Men, Women and children as the convene took place at Boys and Girls H.S. commemorating the 15th anneversary in celebration of the profound works of Dr. Clark. It was a family reunion to see brother Vernon of the African Village, Michael Hooper of Roots Revisited, one of my most precious sisters and friend and former Editor-in-Chief of the now defunct CITY SUN-
Stephanie, Baba Wakili (Swahili) Master Teacher, Ras Baraka (Son of renown poet Laureate Amori Baraka, my profound sister friend Ansar and the list of folks i did not get an opportunity to speak with. The day was highly celebrated when Queen Mother Dr. Adelaide Sandord opened up her key noted speech with BELOVED a title she astutely delivers upon us as we listened attentively to her embraceable you style of a seasoned Queen mother. Queen Mother adorned in ROYAL WHITE and the ability to elaborate with the scholarly simplicity of making it plain. Hosted by Imhotep Gary Byrd as he recognized various dignitaries in the audience just to name a few. Susan Taylor-Editor-in-Chief emeritus Essence Magazine, Bernard White (wbai). It's important that we as a people are enabled to experience the magnitude of what we have accomplished against all odds. To be continued...
