J Train Skipping Stops This Weekend

Here's your weekend transit roundup for Brooklyn.

Now is the beginning of the summer, fall, winter, spring, and summer again of the R train's discontent. At least for Brooklyn residents riding to Manhattan. The Montague Tunnel on the line is closed as part of a 14-month reclamation project after Sandy.

So make plans to use a different route into Manhattan this weekend, and beyond. 

Here are some of this weekend's service changes in Brooklyn, according to the MTA:

- No trains between Lower Manhattan and Downtown BrooklynService changes affect City Hall, Cortlandt, Rector, Whitehall, Court Sts and Jay St-MetroTech

D/N Coney Island-bound trains skip Union St, 4 Av-9 St, Prospect Av and 25 St

Jamaica-bound F trains run via the A from Jay St-MetroTech to W 4 St

No J trains between Myrtle Av and Broadway Junction. L trains and free shuttle buses provide alternate service

Central Av Station is closed for rehabilitation

57 St/7 Av-bound Q trains skip Neck Rd, Avenue U, Avenue M, Avenue J and Avenue H

Bay Ridge-bound R trains skip Union St, 4 Av-9 St, Prospect Av and 25 St
