Globetrotters Will Dribble Across Brooklyn Bridge

The team will play Barclays Center later this week.

To prep for their first ever Brooklyn game at Barclays Center later this week, five Harlem Globetrotters will dribble and spin basketballs 1.8 miles across the Brooklyn Bridge to Borough Hall today at noon.

The Globetrotters showing Brooklyn spirit this afternoon are: world’s tallest pro basketball player (at 7’8”) Tiny Sturgess, Brooklyn native Hammer Harrison, female star TNT Maddox, Bronx native Cheese Chisholm, and Handles Franklin.

At Brooklyn Borough Hall, the players will be met by Borough President Marty Markowitz, who will proclaim Oct. 7 as “Globetrotter Day.”

The Globetrotters will use pink basketballs as a symbol of their season long support of National Breast Cancer Awareness.

The Barclays Center will welcome the Globetrotters on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m., for their first ever game in the borough. Tickets are still available at harlemglobetrotters.com or barclayscenter.com.
