Five Boroughs Tennis Tournament to Compete at Flushing Meadows Corona Park

USTA Eastern and City Parks Foundation will host challenges in all five boroughs in May and championship in June.

Tennis players from across all five boroughs will be able to compete during a tournament being held by USTA Eastern and the City Parks Foundation this summer at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

The Battle of the Boroughs Tennis Challenge championship will take place on June 15 at the United States Tennis Association’s Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows.

Adult teams of up to 10 players, who must be at least 19 years of age, will compete against other teams in from their borough in May before earning a slot at the championship.

Teams can be a minimum of two men and two women and a maximum four men and four women. There will also be men and women’s singles, men and women’s doubles and a mixed doubles set.

Individual trophies will be handed out for all members of the winning team. All participants will receive a T-shirt, snacks and a minimum two rounds of tennis.

Registration is $20 per person. Proceeds will support the City Parks Foundation’s free youth tennis programs in all five boroughs.

The schedule of borough matches will be held on May 11 in Queens’ Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the Bronx’s Crotona Park, Manhattan’s Riverside Park and the College of Staten Island.

Brooklyn’s challenge will be held on June 1 at Prospect Park.
