Boys & Girls Dunkaroos

On a recent day off from practice, members of the Boys & Girls boys basketball team had some fun and showed off their "ups"

Following 10 days in which the BGHS boys basketball team played five games in three states, Coach Ruth Lovelace gave her players a much needed day off from practice last Wednesday. While warming up, they threw down for an old-fashioned slam dunk contest. As you'll see, they made some and they missed some.

The season resumes on Thursday, January 13th, at home against William E. Grady High School.

Note: South Shore High School, Boys & Girls' opponent for last night's game, was forced to forfeit because of a bench-clearing fight that South Shore got into with Thomas Jefferson Campus in Jefferson's 69-64 win on Jan. 6, according to Kangaroos assistant coach Eugene Carroll. Carroll said both South Shore and Jefferson automatically lose two games, giving Boys & Girls sole possession of second place in the Brooklyn AA standings. All signs point to a Feb. 1 showdown against undefeated Abraham Lincoln High School for what could decide who wins the regular season championship.
