It is imperative that NYC teachers support and vote only for candidates who care about the needs of teachers and students. Charles Barron has shown over many years that he stands with the teachers of NYC. He has stood with teachers at rallies to fight school closings, rallies to fight charter schools, which is an attempt to kill unions and he has been on the frontlines with the teachers of New York City.
NYCTeachers.com says that Barron’s opponent, Hakeem Jeffries, “is a supporter of increasing charter schools and crushing the [teachers] union.”
