Youth are Youth: A Workshop Addressing Rights & Empowerment

Faith and Community Leader Teach-In:  New York is one of two states left in the entire country where young people ages 16 and 17 years old are still charged as adults regardless of the level of the offense.  Come and learn about this practice negatively impacts our young people and communities -- and how you can help to change it.  Participate in a discussion on how to involve young people in your programs, your congregations and community in the campaign to raise the age of criminal responsibility.  The teach-in will be followed by a Film Screening.

Sponsored by The Children's Defense Fund-New York and the Institute for Juvenile Justice Reform & Alternatives, a project of the Center for Nuleadership.
