Exciting news, our Active Design Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 at 9am in the Multipurpose Room-Lobby, at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11216. This workshop will be an devoted to a small group hands-on design exercise. Participants will have the opportunity to map their suggestions for improving physical activity and health in a specific location. We have identified a site for this exercise (map below).
This 3-hour workshop represents the potential to improve your surrounding community. You will meet members of like-minded organizations, and collaborate on a community-driven design exercise. You will interface with City staff who can provide support on Active Design issues, and you will receive take-home tools and resources to aid with implementation of Active Design strategies.

Come share your ideas about how to create safe and pleasant spaces for all Brooklyn residents to be healthy and active. Also:
• Learn how design can influence community health, and hear success stories from community-based Active Design projects
• Participate in a fun, hands-on design activity to re-envision a local space for healthy and active living
• Network with other organizations interested in making
neighborhood improvements
• Connect with staff from the NYC Health Department and other City Agencies
• Receive take home tools and resources to implement Active Design strategies in your neighborhood
