BGHS Teacher Fined, But Not for Harassment Allegations

Gym teacher Stanley Feldman was accused of flirting with female students and calling them “sexy.”

A Boys and Girls High School gym teacher was fined $1,500 for inappropriate comments, but was not reprimanded for allegations that he flirted with his female students, according to the Daily News.

A state arbitrator ruled that the students were not credible witnesses, but fined Feldman $1,500 for using language “to belittle students,” according to the News (Feldman is appealing the fine in state Supreme Court).

There is something incredibly gross about this teacher and this story. Although I hate to smear a veteran teacher, his behavior appears very inappropriate and improper. When I was in high school (Class of 1981), the boys had male physical education instructors and the girls had female physical education instructors, and we our classes were segregated by gender. Although I may be old-fashioned, this system prevented a lot of problems of this nature. Glenn in the Bronx.
