Hands across Brooklyn

Hundreds of concerned community stake holders came out  on a cold Christmas eve eve to stand in support of a restriction on assault weapons and a call to stop the shooting in our communities. Thank you for being present at the unveiling of the prototype that will stand at the site of those who have lost their lives to senseless gun violence in Central Brooklyn. Special thank you to Brooklyn Brown and "Young VIDA" members Denisha, Imani,Tywan, Barbara and Krystal. Stay tuned as we being the process of healing through placing high value on the lives lost in communities of color in Central Brooklyn.

Thank you Christina and Merry Christmas to you as well. I am happy you have chosen to join this movement. There are so many who have grown tired of placing blame in others and have shown a willingness to roll up their collective sleeves with a particular emphasis on "value" for the lives of those that are disproportionately affected by senseless gun violence routinely. The first in the series is the visual representation of the bleeding heart silhouette to be placed on the sites of all those killed by guns in Central Brooklyn.
