Welcome to "MY" BedStuy CEC 16 Legislative Breakfast

CEC 16 looking brighter!

Yesterday morning I was honored to give the keynote address to a room full of parents, educators, advocates and legislators at the annual CEC 16 Legislative Breakfast. I continue to advocate for parent involvement. One of my favorite quotes is "When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school, and when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better. Lets go BedStuy! I was joined by Assembly woman Annette M. Robinson and Public Advocate Bill Deblasio. Thank you CEC President Pegye Johnson for this wonderful opportunity!

Chris Rock said it best, African Americans are shown more 'love' for doing a 'bid' and getting outRead More of prison than to graduate school with a degree. When this 'hood mentality' starts to change, then you will see more than a trickle of AA passing advanced math courses.
