Quinn Maintains Lead in Latest Poll

Council speaker leads Democrats with many undecided.

Council Speaker Christine Quinn is starting to solidify her base of support in this year's mayoral election, according to the New York Times.

The latest poll on the race, conducted with the Siena College Polling Institute, gives Quinn 25 percent of Democratic voters in the city, with Bill Thompson polling at 16 percent and Public Advocate Bill de Blasio at 14 percent.

Anthony Weiner, who at one time was giving Quinn a run for her money, has slipped to 10 percent of the Democratic vote. The poll found that 26 percent of voters were undecided.

A 25 percent share of Democrats still leaves Quinn well short of the 40 percent needed to avoid a runoff, with a month to go before primary voters go to the polls.

The poll also found that former governor Eliot Spitzer leading Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in the race for the Comptroller's office, 44 percent to 35 percent.
