Prospect Park Actually Partially Open During Obama Visit

Make up your mind, Mr. President.

Park lovers knocking off work early on a Friday in autumn, rejoice! Prospect Park will, at least partially, be open Friday despite President Barack Obama landing his helicopter somewhere on the grounds.

The Prospect Park Alliance posted on their website Friday that some portions of the park would, in fact, be open Friday afternoon. This comes after an earlier announcement that the park would be totally shut down to accommodate the president and his visit to P-Tech in Crown Heights.

The Prospect Park Alliance was unspecific about which parts of the park would be accessible, though, and when pressed by Gothamist, said to ask the White House. So I guess they're in charge of the park now.

Maybe just walk around Prospect Park today, and if you get tackled by a Secret Service agent, that part of the park is closed.
