Obama Arrival to Close Prospect Park

Park will be inaccessible for six hours on Friday.

Prospect Park may have been immune to the government shutdown, but it will not get through President Barack Obama's visit to Brooklyn unscathed.

According to the Prospect Park Alliance, Prospect Park will be shuttered completely on Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. to allow the president's helicopter to land in the park.

From there, Obama will head over to P-Tech in Crown Heights, make a speech on the importance of competing in a global economy, wink happily and wave at school kids, and dozens of other very presidential things.

Marine helicopters were practicing their landings in the park earlier this week, captured in photos on several local blogs.
