Brooklyn Beep Lights Borough's Official Menorah

Beep Markowitz opens the first day of Chanukah with the lighting of the menorah at Brooklyn Borough Hall

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz helped light Brooklyn’s official menorah yesterday in front of the Supreme Court building at Brough Hall Plaza.

The 29-foot menorah is the symbol of the celebration of Chanukah, the Jewish festival of lights, which began on Tuesday.

The ceremony was led by Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin of Congregation B’nai Avraham and joined by Senator Daniel Squadron, Council Member Stephen Levin, Council Member David Greenfield, Council Member Letitia James and Council Member Jumaane Williams, with musical entertainment from Uncle Moishy.
