Art for Congress

The Hon. Yvette D. Clarke holds art sale and fundraiser for her re-election campaign

Donations from some of Brooklyn's oldest and most venerable artists went on sale yesterday at a VIP reception and fundraiser to honor Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke (D-11).

The event opened at Restoration's Skylight Gallery and included the works of Otto Neals, Danny Simmons, Ramona Candy, Dr. Myrah Brown Green, Michael Escofferey, Karl McIntosh, Ann Tanksley, Bernard Stanley Hoyes, Xeonbia Bailey and Ron Walton. Cheryle E. Williams served as curator.

“In addition to a rare opportunity to purchase the work of these remarkable artists, in the spirit of community empowerment and in support of Congresswoman Clarke, all participating artists have agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds to Clarke for Congress,” said Una Clarke, a former New York City Councilwoman and Yvette’s mother.
