Suspect Wanted in Violent Bed-Stuy Rape Attempt

Man grabbed, punched victim in local playground after midnight last weekend.

Police are searching for a suspect wanted for an attempted sexual assault in Bed-Stuy Nov. 9.

At around midnight, Nov. 9, the suspect approached a 20-year-old woman walking near the intersection of Patchen Avenue and Madison Street.

He grabbed her and dragged her into a nearby playground before throwing her to the ground and punched her repeatedly, stealing $60. He then threw his victim against a fence in the park and attempted to rape her, investigators said, before fleeing. 

The suspect is described as 5'9", with hazel eyes and a medium skin tone, police said. He was wearing blue pants and a hooded sweatshirt at the time of the assault.
