Shots Fired at Police on Pulaski Street

Police did not sustain any injuries, investigation is ongoing.

Men suspected of gunfire Friday night turned on police investigating the scene, firing a shot at two officers near the rear of a Bed-Stuy building.

At approximately 11:55 p.m., members of the Brooklyn North Gang Unit were near Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Pulaski Street when they heard shots being fired and saw a group of men running into a Pulaski street building located near Marcus Garvey Boulevard.

The members of the Gang Unit immediately called for backup before entering the building, and investigators made their way to the roof of the building while an anti-crime team canvassed the area.

While a plain-clothed 81st Precinct sergeant and police officer searched with flashlights for a firearm they thought might have been thrown from the roof, someone fired one shot in their direction, but the two officers were not hurt.

Six shell casings were found on the side of a Lewis Avenue located near Hart Street, and three parked cars were damaged by the shots heard by the Gang Unit. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
