Update: Shooting in Marcy Houses Leaves One Injured, One Dead

One of the victims has been identified

Updated September 5, 2011 at 2:00pm: A Sunday night shootout at in the Marcy Houses Project Development left one man injured and another man dead.

According to police, on August 4, at approximately 6:40 p.m., police  responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 125 Nostrand Avenue within the confines of the 79 Precinct.

Upon arrival, police discovered two people shot at the location. The first victim a 26-year-old man, identified as Kenya McCollum, who lived on Park and Marcy Avenues in Bed-Stuy, was shot once in the abdomen and taken to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The second victim, a 22-year-old man who has not yet been identified, also was shot in the abdomen and taken to Kings County Hospital. The second victim is in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
