Thief Yanked Jewelry from Toddler's Neck: Cops

Man followed mother, child, into lobby of their apartment before robbing 3-year-old in stroller,

Police are searching for a mugger who targeted a 3-year-old boy and his mother by forcibly removing a yellow gold baptism charm from the child's neck as he lay in his baby carriage.

The jewelry snatcher followed the pair into their Reid Ave. building's lobby at about 11:45 p.m July 10, according to police. The man then ran off in an unknown direction.

Police released a sketch of the stolen necklace.

The suspect is described as a slim, dark-skinned black male between the ages of 16 and 18, standing about 5-foot-5 in height, wearing tan shorts and a white shirt.
