Police Officer Shot With a BB Gun on Marcy Avenue

Two suspects were arrested and the policeman was sent to Brooklyn Hospital for minor injuries.

Two suspects were arrested after a police officer was shot in his hip with a BB gun on Marcy Avenue on Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to the NYPD, the policeman only suffered bruising on his right hip from the BB gun wound. He was sent to Brooklyn Hospital and was released soon after being treated.

Police said that the shooting occurred at around 4:10 p.m. between Vernon and Willoughby avenues.

The suspects who were apprehended, two men, have not yet been formally charged and are in custody at the 79th precinct, an NYPD spokesman said.  

The authorities are further investigating the details of the incident.
