Police Looking for Suspect in Sunday Night Shooting

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Mitchell Wiggins of Bed-Stuy

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Mitchell Wiggins of Bed-Stuy in connection with the shooting death of Donyell Burton.

On Sunday, March 11, 2012, at approximately 5:40pm, police responded to a 911 call of a man shot at the corner of Vernon Avenue and Marcus Garvey Blvd.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found Burton, 23, with a gunshot wound to the back. Burton was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting suspect, Mitchell Wiggins, of Marcus Garvey Boulevard, is described as a black male, 19, with black hair, brown eyes, 5'6 and 150 lbs.

There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
