Police Investigating Wednesday Morning Shooting on Dekalb and Lewis Avenues

Man shot on the 7th floor of Roosevelt Houses

Police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting in Roosevelt Houses on Dekalb and Lewis avenues.

According to police reports, on Wednesday, February 20, at around 10:45 a.m., 81st Pct police received a 911 call of shots fired at 927 DeKalb Avenue in the Roosevelt Houses and a possible male shot on the 7th floor.

Upon arrival, officers found Jose Sanchez, 44, shot once in the left leg and once in the stomach. The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is in fair condition.

Sanchez does not live in the building and was very uncooperative when questioned about his whereabouts at the location, said police.

The detective squad is still investigating at this time, and no arrest has been made.
