Police Blotter: Two Shootings, a Home Invasion And a Robbery

A daily roundup of crime in the 79th and 81st Pcts

A few incidents within the confines of the 79th and 81st precinct over the last three days:

  • On Tuesday, April 26, at approximately 7:45 pm, there was a shooting at Nostrand and Lafayette Avenues. The perpetrator fled in a 4-door silver automobile.
  • On Wednesday, April 27, at approximately 10:18 am, police received reports of a stolen iPhone. The victim says the incident took place at  Lafayette and Classon Avenues. The victim describes the perpetrator as a black male, 5’ 6” wearing a red jacket. The perpetrator possibly fled into the projects after the incident.
  • On Wednesday, April 27, at approximately 1:00 pm, a police car hit another moving vehicle at Flushing and Kent Avenues.
  • On Thursday, April 28, at approximately 6:23 pm, a robbery was reported at a home residence located at 605 Hemlock St. Witnesses describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 6’ 1”. Police are still investigating.
  • On Thursday, April 28, at approximately 7:45 pm, shots were fired at Dekalb Ave and Classon Avenues, in Lafayette Gardens Houses. Aviation units, housing cops were called to the scene where they found a males shot approximately 25 years old. The male was going into cardiac arrest, but was transported to Brooklyn Hospital. No further information is available about his condition. The investigation is ongoing.
