Police Blotter: Two Shootings, a Burglary And a Robbery

A weekly roundup of crime incidents in the 79th Precinct

The 79th Precinct experienced a 35 percent reduction in crime (26 vs 40 crimes), compared to this same time last year for the week of April 11 – April 17. Over the past four weeks, the precinct is reporting a 6 percent decrease (125 vs 133), compared to this same 28-day period last year.

Robbery

Saturday, April 16, at 9:20 pm, a food deliveryman was robbed at gunpoint while making a delivery. The robbery took place in front of 786 Lafayette Avenue. The victim was robbed of his food and money.  The case is active and being investigated by 79th Pct Detectives.

Commercial Burglary

On Saturday, April 16, a real estate business located at 116 Nostrand Avenue was burglarized. The perpetrators entered 116 Nostrand Avenue through a rear window and ransacked office desks. Investigation continues by the 79th Pct Detectives.

2 Shootings

On Monday, April 11, at 1:40 pm, a 20-year-old male was shot in the left shoulder in front of 499 Gates Avenue. The motive is still under investigation.

On Monday, April 11, at 6:45 pm, two males were shot on the corner of Throop Ave and Jefferson Ave. The motive is still under investigation and the case is still active by the 79th Pct Detectives.
