Police Blotter: Two Robberies and Grand Larceny Auto

The 79th Precinct experienced a 13% crime decrease for the week of February 28th to March 6th (32 vs 37 crimes) during this same time last year. For the month, the precinct reports a 23% decrease in overall crimes (95 vs 123 crimes), compared to this same time last year.

Two Robberies

On Monday, February 28th, at 3:30 PM a male, 56 years old was walking from a post office on Fulton Street near Spencer Place when an unknown male forcibly removed nine money orders totaling $8400. The perpetrator fled east on Fulton Street and has not been apprehended. 

On Saturday, March 5th, at 6:30 am, a 27-year-old male was walking on Pulaski Street near the corner of Nostrand Avenue when two males approached him and demanded his wallet. One perpetrator put him in a chokehold while the second male removed his wallet from his pants pocket. The perpetrators fled in an unknown direction.      

Burglary

On March 6th, a burglary of a residence at 124 Quincy Street was reported to the 79th Precinct. Money and jewelry were stolen. It is unknown how the perpetrator entered the apartment since there was no forced entry.

Grand Larceny Auto

On Tuesday March 4th, a 2004 Mercury Sable was reported stolen in front of 260 Herkimer St.

Auto Break-in

On Monday February 28th, an unknown person broke the passenger side window of a 2004 Land Rover while it was parked in front of 264 Marcus Garvey Blvd. A navigation system and an air bag were removed from the auto.
