Police Blotter: Police Capture 3 Home Invasion Suspects Who Jump From Window

A weekly roundup of police activity in the 81st Precinct

Crime is up 33.3 percent (36 incidents vs. 27 incidents) in the 81st Precinct, the week of May 30, through June 5, 2011. Crime is up 36 percent (121 incidents vs. 89 incidents), compared to the same 28-day period last year. And overall crime is up 11.4 percent (549 incidents vs. 493 incidents) for the year, compared to this same time period in 2010.

Home Invasion:

On Monday, June 13, at approximately 2:00 am, three male victims were assaulted during a home invasion robbery on Bainbridge Street between Howard and Saratoga Avenues. According to the victims, the men entered their apartment complex on the second floor to find three armed black males. The perpetrators demanded the residents get on the floor, but not before one of the victims managed to contact the police. When police arrived on the scene, two of the suspects jumped out of the back window; one jumped out the front window of the home. All three of the men were caught.

Shooting:

On Thursday, June 9, at approximately 11:35 am, a 33-year-old man was shot twice at 50 Stuyvesant, following an altercation in the lobby of the housing development complex at the location. The man is in stable condition. Both suspects were captured.
