Police Blotter: Husband and Wife Tied Up, Robbed in Their Home on Broadway Ave

Commercial Robbery

On Friday, July 12, at around 10:30 p.m., a merchant working at a store, located at 1590 Fulton Street, was robbed at gunpoint. According to the victim, the perpetrator walked into the store, pointed a gun at him and demanded all of the money or threatened to shoot him. The merchant handed over money, and the victim fled the on foot. Police are still working the case.

Shooting

On Wednesday, July 10, at around 2:30 p.m., an innocent bystander was shot while walking along Fulton Street. At the time of the shooting, police said they were driving past Brevoort Houses, located at 1839 Fulton Street, when they heard gunshots and observed a man with a gun in the rear parking lot. Police got out of their car and started chasing the man who took off running through Brevoort Houses and then disappeared. The victim said he was walking down the street when he heard gunshots and felt pain. He was transported to Kings County Hospital. Police said they have a few leads, and detectives are still working the case.

Home Invasion

On Thursday, July 11, at around 2:50 a.m., a husband and wife were the victims of an armed robbery at their home on Broadway Avenue. According to the victims, they arrived at their apartment at around 2:50 a.m. and witnessed an unidentified male, Hispanic, entering their apartment. When the woman approached the stranger, a second man appeared from the apartment and pointed a gun at husband. The couple were then pulled into the apartment, at which point the robbers tied their hands with Saran Wrap and began ransacking the apartment. The thieves confiscated iPads, a Playstation, the victims' wallets and cell phones and then left the apartment. No one was hurt. Detectives are working the case.
