Police Blotter: A Stabbing, a Shooting and Two Phone Snatches

A weekly roundup of crime activity in the 79h Precincnt.

Crime is down 14 percent in the 79th Precinct, for the week of April 10- April 17 (38 vs 44), compared to this same time last year. For the month, crime is down 11 percent (133 vs 150), compared to this same 28-day period last year.

Stabbing

On Sunday morning, April 17, at 2:00 am, three people were stabbed at a house party that took place at 162 Pulaski Street. The 79th Precinct responded to 911 calls for a large fight and were met by one stabbing victim at the location. Two additional victims made their way to local hospitals on their own. All three victims are in stable condition. This incident is under investigation by the 79th Pct.  

A Shooting

On Wednesday, April 20, at 8:10 pm. A male, 34 years old, was shot by an unknown person on the corner of Franklin Ave and Breevort Place. The male victim was shot once in the chest and was transported to Kings County hospital in stable condition. The motive for this is unknown.  

Phone Snatches 

On Sunday April 24, at 1:00 am, a female, 17 years old, had her cell phone snatched from her hand by an unknown black male approximately 20 years old. This crime took place while the female victim sat on a bench inside of the Bedford--Nostrand Train Station.    

On Tuesday April 19, at 7:50 am, a female, 21 years old, was the victim of a phone snatch. The victim recounts that she was talking on the phone on the corner of Marcus Garvey Blvd and Hart Street when an unknown black male, approximately 15 years old, grabbed her phone from her hand and ran away.
