The price of gas has dropped 10 cents since last week

The volatile gas prices are at it again-- this time, making a move in the right direction.

Gas has dropped another ten cents in the last week, moving from $3.99 to $3.89 for a gallon of regular gas.

Gasoline prices first starting dropping at the beginning of the summer, possibly a result of President Obama's decision to release oil reserves. It gave motorists a little hope of a petroleum price turnaround.

But by early July, those hopes were dashed, as the price was back on the incline, rising fast for two weeks in a row, then leveling for two weeks before dropping down four cents to $3.99, where it was four weeks earlier.

This week, the price drop is more dramatic-- 10 cents. However, one motorist, Jeff Silverstein, says he's not exactly jumping for joy. The fluctuating prices, he says, has killed his confidence that gas prices will land anywhere consumers can become comfortable or confident.

"It sucks that it's not stable enough," says Silverstein. "Supply, demand, government regulation, taxes, all of those things are playing a role."
