NYPD Alert: Robbery Cluster

79 Pct police are reporting a cluster of robberies around the northern end of Bed-Stuy.

Cops from 79th Precinct are alerting the community to a crime pattern: a cluster of robberies along the northern end of Bed-Stuy.

According to Deputy Inspector Mike Lipetri, there have been at least five robberies in the past three weeks that occurred in the areas between Franklin and Nostrand avenues and Dekalb and Jefferson avenues, usually during the afternoon hours.

All of the incidents involve a male following a female into the vestibule of the victim's building and then robbing her at gunpoint of either her handbag or electronic devices.

The suspect in all cases is described as a black male, age 20-25, standing approximately 6-feet, weighing 175 pounds, wearing a hoodie and a scarf that covers his face.

Lipetri is advising residents living in these areas to be diligent and aware of their surroundings.

This is very disturbing. This area is actually the southern end of Bed-Stuy. The northern section starts at Flushing and would extend south to approximately Greene.
