A man was shot in the neck early Monday morning while walking down Dekalb Avenue, near Lewis Avenue.
According to 79th Pct. police, the victim, Andre Southerland, 35, was walking past 953 Dekalb Avenue at around 3:00 a.m., after dropping off his girlfriend when he heard several gunshots. Southerland said he began running when he realized he had been shot in the neck.
The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening, according to police.
Detectives are seeking information from the public surrounding the incident and are currently working the case.
