Man Shot in the arm Tuesday While Parking on Monroe St.

Police are still investigating victim's story, looking for leads

81st Precinct police are asking for the public's assistance for any leads surrounding a shooting Tuesday evening.

According to police, on Tuesday September 18, at around 11:10 p.m., a man identified as Walter Barnes, 45, contacted police after he was assaulted by three strangers and shot in the forearm while parking his car across from 773 Monroe Street between Ralph and Patchen avenues.

According to Barnes, who does not live in the area, he was parking his car when two unknown women and a man entered his vehicle and shot him once in the right forearm. The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is in stable condition.

It is unclear what Mr. Barnes was doing at the above location, said police. No arrests have been made and the detective squad is still investigating his story and case.
