Man Shot and Killed in His Car Friday Morning

There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is ongoing

A 40-year-old Bed-Stuy resident was shot and killed Friday morning while sitting inside of his car.

According to police, they received a 911 call of shots fired at approximately 10:25 a.m. 177 Patchen Avenue. Cops responded and found the victim, shot, in his vehicle in front of 177 Patchen Avenue at the corner of Hancock Street.

Witnesses said the victim was in his car when a dark-colored pickup truck drove past and fired several shots into victim's car. The pick up truck then fled northbound up Patchen.

The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of his family.
