A Jefferson Avenue resident was the victim of a homicide Friday afternoon, police have confirmed.
On Friday, September 7 at 2:50 p.m., members of the 79th Precinct responded to a 911 call that a male had been shot on Spencer Place, between Fulton and Hancock Streets. Upon arriving at the scene, the team of officers discovered a man with several gunshot wounds to his body.
Emergency medical services quickly responded and transported the victim to Interfaith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim, Kareem Holifield, 28, resided on Jefferson Avenue between Nostrand and Bedford.
There are no arrests at this time and investigation is ongoing.
