Update: Name Released of Man Killed in Fulton Street Apartment Building

The 45-year-old was found this morning with gunshot wounds in a sixth floor hallway between Stuyvesant Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard.

UPDATE: Jan. 1, 7:15 p.m.: The name of the victim has been released. It's Andrew Brown, who lived a block away on Fulton Street.

A 45-year-old man was shot dead this morning in the hallway of a Fulton Street apartment building.

Police were called to the building at 9:08 a.m. and found the man unconscious on the sixth floor of 1711 Fulton St. between Stuyvesant Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, according to the NYPD.

Emergency workers pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police are waiting to release the name of the victim until the family is notified.

So far no arrests have been made, police said.
