Man Found Shot Dead on Quincy Street in Bed-Stuy

A 27-year-old man was found dead on Quincy Street in Bed-Stuy early Friday morning, according to police. 

Police received a 911 call shortly after midnight Friday, and dispatched officers to Quincy Street between Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Lewis Avenue. 

They found Daquan Wilson, 27, of Gates Avenue at the scene with a bullet wound in his chest. 

He was taken to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Thanks for the murder update, Bed-Stuy Patch! You really know how to make our neighborhood look like a miserable warzone while painting the rest of Brooklyn like a playground. Such a shame that nothing but our neighborhood's violent crime is newsworthy enough for you!

I agree, there needs to be more positive news about our neighborhood. But, it's just possible, that we need to have this information also, until we prod those who are the keepers of public order to take steps to help put an end to the violence. I say "help" because ultimately it's up to us to do something - anything. This includes being parents to our children.
