Man Wanted for Questioning in the Murder of Bed-Stuy Resident John Seabrook

There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011, at 12:45 am, police officers were flagged down by a pedestrian at the corner of Stuyvesant Avenue and Vernon Avenue within the confines of the 81 precinct.

Police arrived at the scene to find an unconscious and unresponsive black male in front of 8 Stuyvesant Avenue with serious head trauma.

EMS responded to the scene and immediately transported the victim to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified today as John H. Seabrook, 46, of 23 Truxton Street in Brooklyn.

There are no arrests at this time. The identification of the DOA is pending family notification, and the investigation is ongoing.

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating the individual seen in the attached photos and video for questioning in regards to this incident.

The subject is described as a black male, mid-30s, long black hair (in braids or dreadlocks), black jacket and tan-colored pants.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident or the identity of the individual seen in these photos/video are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 577 TIPS (8477).
