Man Arrested For Kicking Cat In Video Posted To Facebook
A violent video of a man kicking a cat in Bed-Stuy led to the arrest of a suspect currently being questioned by police.
A man has been arrested after being identified in a shocking video posted to Facebook in which he lures a stray cat over to him and kicks it.
NYPD said Tuesday that the incident occurred in Bed-Stuy in the courtyard of the Brevoort Houses.
It is unclear who posted the video first, but it spread on social media as angry viewers demanded his capture.
“We were able to identify him as part of an investigation behind the video,” a police source told the New York Post. “People who saw (the video) were really disturbed by it.”
Police are currently questioning the suspect, and no charges have been formally made yet. It is unknown how badly the cat was injured.
