Livery Cab Crashes into Ralph Avenue Dry Cleaners

Car runs into building Monday morning, alarms neighbors

A livery cab ran into a building at 110 Ralph Avenue near the corner of Jefferson Avenue Monday morning, after it attempted to avoid a collision with another car.

The driver, whose identification is still pending, was traveling north up Ralph Avenue at approximately 10:05 am when a near collision with another car forced him to veer off to the left onto the sidewalk and into the building, the location of Ralph Avenue Dry Cleaners.

The other car involved in the near two-car collision left the scene, and it is still unclear of which direction it was heading before the crash, according to fire officials.

“I just heard a scream and a loud bang,” said Rachel, who lives in the building adjacent to the cleaners. “By the time I came downstairs, it was just a lot of people and fire trucks and this car sitting here, but it didn’t look like anyone was hurt.”

According to officials, no pedestrians were hurt. The building sustained no structural damage, and the driver was transported to Kings County Hospital.
