Fire at Greene Avenue Building

Blaze called in at 6:36 a.m. Sunday.

Around 65 firefighters battled a fire at a three-story private dwelling on Greene Avenue in Bed-Stuy early Sunday morning, according to the New York Fire Department.

The fire at 571 Greene Ave. began on the first floor at 6:36 a.m., fire officials said. According to an FDNY spokesman, firefighters brought the blaze under control at 6:53 a.m.

The structure is located between Marcy and Tompkins avenues opposite Herbert von King Park.
