Elderly Woman Found Dead From Multiple Stab Wounds

Police made startling discovery at 85-year-old woman's Jefferson Avenue home on Friday.

The New York Police Department is investigating the death of an 85-year-old woman found unconscious and unresponsive in her Jefferson Avenue apartment in Bed-Stuy on Friday.

Officers discovered the woman, identified by police as Gloria Cadet, at 872 Jefferson St. at 7:50 a.m. Cadet was later declared dead on arrival by paramedics, police said.

Upon further investigation, police said they discovered Cadet had been stabbed multiple times in the neck and torso.

Police are investigating Cadet's death as a homicide.
