Cops Seeking Transit Bandit

Elderly man was robbed at Bed-Stuy subway station

The NYPD is asking the public's help to track down a suspected thief who punched and robbed an elderly man at a Bed-Stuy subway station earlier this month.

A 79-year-old man was at the Ralph Avenue station at 6:55 p.m. on Aug. 9, when he was punched in the face and had his wallet pulled from his pants pocket as a C train approached the station.

The suspect is described as a black man with braids who is between 25 and 35 years old, standing 5-foot-7 and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.

He was spotted wearing a black T-shirt with the word "PLATOON" on the front, black pants and black and white sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

All calls are kept strictly confidential.

Chris Rock said it best, African Americans are shown more 'love' for doing a 'bid' and getting outRead More of prison than to graduate school with a degree. When this 'hood mentality' starts to change, then you will see more than a trickle of AA passing advanced math courses.
