Brooklyn District Attorney Promises Prosecution of Alleged Shooter

Bed-Stuy resident Brandon Reese allegedly killed 18-year-old Mario Lopez and injured three other young men ages 13, 14 and 15.

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes said the alleged shooter who killed one teenager and injured three others at the Marcy Houses in Bed-Stuy will be prosecuted to “the fullest extent of the law,” according to DNAinfo.com.

Hynes and dozens of family, friends and neighbors gathered at a “peace and prayer rally” on Tuesday night for 18-year-old Mario Lopez, who was allegedly shot by 20-year-old Bed-Stuy resident Brandon Reese at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

“We will do everything we can to prosecute this young man who killed Mario Lopez,” Hynes said at the rally. “That’s my promise.”

Police say Reese was a member of the Tompkins Get Money Crew while Lopez and two of the victims were Young Slackers members.

Reese has been charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.
