Bed-Stuy Rapist Caught in Crown Heights

Richard Scott, 29, of Bedford-Stuyvesant was charged with rape, robbery and criminal obstruction of breathing

The hunt is over. The man accused of raping a Bed-Stuy woman on February 24 was caught and arrested a week later, on March 4, in Crown Heights by the Brooklyn Special Victims Unit, police said.

The suspect, Richard Scott, 29 of Bedford-Stuyvesant, stopped the victim outside her home near Ralph Avenue and Decatur Street at around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 24, when police said he robbed the woman and raped her, before choking her and then fleeing the scene.

Scott was charged with rape, robbery and criminal obstruction of breathing, police said.
